And So It Begins

I've been working on a long term goal for about 4 years now.  To own my own mini farm or homestead if you will.  It started because I'm wanting to get back to the days I spent with my dad and mom on our little farm we had in North Georgia.  I remember when we first got our cows, chickens and even had a lamb I raised for 4-H.  It was a simpler time or at least that is what I remember.  I'm sure my mom would say otherwise but I'm so very fond of those memories.  I want to give our daughter those same memories too for her to look back on when she is my age.

We have finally found a 12 acre farm with a cute old farmhouse and it is all about to begin!  This blog is going to be a record of our getting established with chickens, cows and growing our own food as much as we can.  My husband and I both work full time and so we have a lot on our plate but I'm just so excited to be able to head back out to the country after a long day at work.  This is going to be such a great time for making memories with my family and can't wait to get started.

We move in one week and I've been a busy bee getting the new house ready and also getting what we have left to pack for the big day.

A look out my kitchen window
It won't be long before we get in and start making this a happy home for our family and I can't wait to share how it is coming along.
